Thaddeus J. Yurek III

Thaddeus J. Yurek III

A native of California, Thaddeus “Toby” Yurek III moved to the Las Vegas Valley in high school and has considered Nevada home ever since. He did his undergraduate work at Hope International University in Fullerton, California, and returned to Nevada in 1995 to join the City of Henderson Police Department as a Police Officer. He served for 20 years, advancing to the rank of Lieutenant before retiring in 2015.

During his time with the Henderson Police Department, Mr. Yurek completed his Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Boston University. He went on to pursue his Juris Doctorate from the William S. Boyd School of Law at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He graduated in 2008 and was accepted to the Nevada Bar that same year.

Upon retirement from law enforcement, Mr. Yurek joined the firm. His background and experience give him a unique understanding of the challenges faced by those who serve our community as first responders, allowing him to offer quality representation to the injured. He also serves as an instructor for law enforcement agencies and police academies, specializing in Fourth Amendment law.

Mr. Yurek is a Fee Dispute Mediator and Arbitrator for the State Bar of Nevada and a member of the Nevada Justice Association. He has served on the Governance Board of Lake Mead Christian Ministries and the Board of Trustees of Hope International University. He was recently appointed as Judge Pro Tempore for the City of Henderson Municipal Court.

Toby is also currently serving in the Nevada Legislature, elected to represent Assembly District 19, which encompasses Southeast Henderson, Logandale, Moapa, Moapa Valley, and Mesquite.

Mr. Yurek enjoys being a part of the GGRM team because it is “a firm that truly cares about clients – where helping people is a priority.”

Jason D. Mills

Jason Mills is a highly experienced workers’ compensation attorney based in Nevada. He has been practicing law since 2000 and has dedicated his career to representing injured workers in Nevada workers’ compensation claims. Born and raised in Las Vegas, he learned the value of hard work from his parents, who worked in busy Las Vegas casinos. At the age of fourteen, he started working at a local plant nursery after school, further instilling in him a strong work ethic. Mr. Mills obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Nevada – Las Vegas and then attended the California Western School of Law in San Diego, where he earned his Juris Doctorate in 2000. He returned to Nevada, obtained his law license, and began his legal career. In 2015, he also became licensed to practice law in the state of Washington.

Throughout his career, Mr. Mills has focused exclusively on handling workers’ compensation claims in Nevada. He is highly regarded for his legal expertise in this area, and many new clients are referred to him by former clients who were satisfied with the outcomes of their cases. Fellow attorneys in Nevada also refer clients to Mr. Mills, recognizing his skill in the field of Nevada workers’ compensation law. Mr. Mills has served as lead counsel on thousands of contested workers’ compensation claims, representing clients at all levels of the administrative law process within the Nevada Industrial Insurance system. He has successfully litigated cases from the initial Hearing Office through the Nevada Supreme Court, and he has several reported decisions in favor of injured workers, including notable cases such as CCMSI v. Figueroa, 468 P.3d 827 (2020) and City of Henderson v. Wolfgram, 501 P.3d 422 (2021). After his former partner retired in December 2017, Mr. Mills continued to operate his law firm until it merged with GGRM on January 1, 2021.

In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Mills is actively involved in the Nevada Justice Association (NJA), the state trial lawyers association. He has lobbied and testified for the NJA on important issues concerning injured workers in every legislative session since 2015. He has worked on numerous bills, resulting in the enactment of dozens of laws due to his successful lobbying efforts. In 2016, Mr. Mills was elected to the Board of Governors for the NJA and is set to serve as the President of the organization for the 2023-2024 term. In recognition of his service to the association and the people of Nevada, he received the prestigious “Badger Award” from the NJA in 2017. He was also elected to the Board of Trustees for the Citizens for Justice, the NJA’s political action committee, in 2018. Mr. Mills was selected by the State Bar of Nevada in 2018 to be one of the five co-founding board members of the State Bar of Nevada Board of Workers’ Compensation Legal Specialization. This board was tasked with creating and administering a state bar certification and testing process for attorney specialization in the field of Nevada workers’ compensation law.

Mr. Mills is also member of prominent national legal associations such as the American Association for Justice (AAJ) and the Workers’ Injury Law & Advocacy Group (WILG). He also serves as the Nevada Workers’ Compensation Contract Panel Attorney for several professional sports players’ associations, including the National Football League Players’ Association, Major League Baseball Players’ Association, National Hockey League Players’ Association, Professional Hockey Players’ Association, and National Lacrosse League Players’ Association.

Lisa Anderson joined the firm in 1996. Even though her U.S. Air Force family lived in many different locations throughout the country and the world, she considers Las Vegas her home, graduating from Eldorado High School in 1986. She attended the University of Southern California in 1990, where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science. In 1993, she earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of Miami and was admitted to the Nevada Bar that same year.

Mrs. Anderson was one of the first attorneys in Nevada to become a certified Workers’ Compensation Specialist with the Nevada Justice Association. She enjoys spending time with her family on the beach and out in the community serving together. She is passionate about mentoring high school students, speaking about the benefits of college and discussing ways to overcome the obstacles to going to college.

For over 20 years, Mrs. Anderson has been fighting for the rights of the injured at GGRM because she believes in investing her time and energy into people. “GGRM is purposeful in building relationships with clients, staff and the community that outlive any case we may be working on.”

Jason D. Guinasso, the Personal Injury Partner at GGRM, grew up in Reno, Nevada, and leads the firm’s statewide personal injury practice. Admitted to practice in Nevada (2003) and California (2005), Jason is also licensed to appear before the Federal District Court of Nevada and the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.

Jason is a fierce advocate for those who have sustained serious injuries, viewing the practice of law as more than a profession—it’s a calling. He fights for justice, defends his clients’ dignity as they heal, and demands accountability from those responsible for harm.

Since 2003, Jason has transformed tragedies into opportunities, bringing healing and hope to those with catastrophic injuries and providing recovery for families devastated by accidents. A skilled civil litigator and trial attorney, he is renowned for his trial and legal writing skills, and his advocacy has led to several published cases that have changed Nevada law and policy.

Jason’s commitment to justice is rooted in education. He graduated cum laude from the University of Nevada, Reno, with a Bachelor’s in Political Science, and earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Oregon School of Law. Currently, he is pursuing a Master’s in Leadership, Theology, and Society at Regent College, reflecting his dedication to ethical leadership and holistic problem-solving.

Beyond his work at GGRM, Jason is deeply committed to serving his community. He maintains a pro bono public advocacy and public policy law firm, Guinasso Law, focusing on issues such as assisting survivors of sexual assaults, sex abuse, and commercial sexual exploitation.

When not advocating for his clients or causes, cooking, outdoor activities, bird watching, and spending time with his family and their pets. His passion for justice, diverse legal experience, and commitment to education make Jason a powerful advocate for his clients at GGRM Law Firm.

Originally from New York, Joshua Davidson graduated with his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Pre-Law from Flagler College in 2007. He received his Juris Doctorate from the Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville, Florida, in 2010, where he was a member of the Phi Alpha Delta Law Society.

After spending five years as an agent representing professional athletes, Joshua was admitted to the California Bar in 2015. He entered into workers’ compensation litigation prior to his admittance to the Nevada Bar in 2017. His unique background and experience help him understand the issues our clients face when injured on the job.

When asked what impressed him most about the firm, Joshua remarked about the integrity with which GGRM practices law. He enjoys traveling, martial arts, hiking, and spending time with family.

Dr. Anthony received his B.S. and D.O. degrees from Ohio University, as well as a J.D. from Florida State University and an MBA from the University of Tennessee. He completed his internship at Riverside Hospital in Trenton, Michigan, and his residency in family medicine at Case Western Reserve University/Cleveland Metropolitan General Hospital/Metro Health in Cleveland, Ohio. Following three years of post-graduate training, Dr. Anthony moved to Florida and practiced there until relocating to Nevada in 1996. Dr. Anthony is board certified in family medicine and has been since 1988.

Prior to joining GGRM, Dr. Anthony was Program Director for the Graduate Medical Education program at Valley Hospital Medical Center in Las Vegas, where he obtained Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) status for their family medicine program.

“Understanding the underlying medical issues is paramount to a successful legal claim,” said Dr. Anthony. “After practicing and teaching medicine for more than 36 years, I wanted to do something different and feel that incorporating my knowledge and experience to make the law work for GGRM’s clients is an interesting approach to taking care of patients in an entirely new way.”

Valerie Hall, originally from Southern California, moved to Las Vegas in 2000 to be near family. She brings a diverse and robust educational background to her role at GGRM. Valerie earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus on Accounting from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. She furthered her education with a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Paralegal Studies and an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing from the College of Southern Nevada. Valerie also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Healthcare Administration from Western Governors University.

Valerie’s professional experience spans multiple industries, including public and private accounting, law enforcement, real estate, mortgage, facilities management, and nursing administration. Her extensive background in governmental service is highlighted by her recent position as Deputy Administrator and Chief Administrative Officer for the State of Nevada’s Department of Business and Industry, Division of Industrial Relations, Workers’ Compensation Section. Valerie’s diverse career path equips her with a unique perspective and skill set, making her a valuable asset to the GGRM team.

Valerie was inspired to join GGRM by the firm’s dedication to and relentless pursuit of justice for its clients. She is committed to guiding individuals through the complexities of the workers’ compensation process, ensuring they receive the support and representation they deserve.

Outside of her professional life, Valerie is a homebody who enjoys reading, gardening, and solving jigsaw puzzles. She finds comfort and relaxation in these activities, which balance her dynamic career.

Kevin Johnson

GGRM struck gold when Kevin Johnson agreed to join our staff and lead our strategy team. A West Coast native most of his life, he decided to “roll the dice” and relocate to Las Vegas and accept the role of Chief Strategy Officer.

Kevin has over twenty years of extensive and diverse experience developing and executing innovative online media projects for hundreds of clients as a strategic-minded marketing technologist. His extraordinary visionary talents and out-of-the-box approach to strategy and marketing have provided the spark that GGRM needed to take its business presence to the next level throughout Nevada.

He was formerly a Curriculum Director with San Francisco State University’s Multimedia Studies Program where he helped create one of the world’s first online training programs.

In addition to his many talents, Kevin is a UC Master Gardener and a former rockstar. When he’s not in his office at GGRM, you can find him cultivating the desert soil in his backyard or in a studio recording new music.

Dane Mattoon

Originally from Moscow, Idaho, Dane Mattoon moved to the Las Vegas valley in 1994 to begin his career in law enforcement, experiencing some culture shock upon arrival. He initially worked at the now-demolished Showboat Hotel and Casino. Dane completed his Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the University of Idaho in 1993 and later earned a Master’s in Administrative Leadership and Organizational Culture from the University of Oklahoma in 2018. He is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy, the Northwestern School of Police Staff and Command, and the Henderson Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program.

Dane served 24 years as a police officer, with 23.5 of those years at the Henderson Police Department, retiring as a Police Captain in 2019. Throughout his career, he held various roles, including Field Training Officer, SWAT, Undercover Detective, and Sergeant of the Problem Solving Unit. As a Lieutenant, he oversaw Technical Services, Accreditation, and Backgrounds. His tenure as Captain included leadership over Patrol, Technical Services, Human Resources, Communications, Records, Fleet, Supply, and Evidence. Additionally, Dane was appointed to the Nevada Public Safety Communications Committee by Governor Brian Sandoval and chaired several communications councils.

After retiring from the police force, Dane worked as a Senior Account Executive for Motorola Solutions Inc. for the State of Nevada. His extensive leadership experience and expertise in law enforcement technology and policy creation make him a valuable asset to GGRM. Inspired by his own positive experience as a client of GGRM, Dane is committed to assisting clients during their most challenging times.

In his free time, Dane enjoys working on classic cars, open road racing in his 2000 Camaro SS, camping with family, hunting, and ATV riding. His professional philosophy is encapsulated by the leadership test: “Am I doing the right thing, at the right time, in the right way, and for the right reason.”

Isaac Hagerbaumer, originally from Reno, Nevada, moved to Las Vegas to attend UNLV’s Boyd School of Law, the only law school in the state. After completing his education, he decided to build his life in Las Vegas. Isaac’s journey to his current role began with his work as a clerk, which led to his promotion to Deputy District Attorney for Clark County. However, he sought a different path where he could help people more directly, which he found at GGRM.

Isaac earned his undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice with an emphasis on Law and Justice from the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR), graduating magna cum laude. At UNLV Boyd, he obtained his Juris Doctor. During his time at Boyd, Isaac served as President of the Policy and Legislation Society, won first place in the 2020 Trial Advocacy Competition, was a member of the Society of Advocates on the Mock Trial team, and served on the Legal Issues Committee for the Graduate Professional Student Association (GPSA).

Before joining GGRM, Isaac worked as a Clark County Deputy District Attorney and a Sales Manager for AT\&T. His professional experience and skills as a people person allow him to connect with clients and effectively use his legal knowledge to advocate for them. Isaac’s commitment to making a positive impact in people’s lives inspired him to join GGRM, where he continues to help clients navigate the complexities of workers’ compensation law.

In his free time, Isaac enjoys spending time at home with his partner, working out, and exploring new foods. He is passionate about travel, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and reading good books. His personal philosophy, inspired by Benard Baruch, is “Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter, and those who matter don’t mind.” Isaac believes in meeting people where they are, ensuring they feel seen and understood.

Originally from Hobbs, New Mexico, Veronica Salas moved to Las Vegas seeking new opportunities for her small family. She pursued her education at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Veronica continued her studies at UNLV’s Boyd School of Law, obtaining her Juris Doctor.

Veronica has extensive experience in workers’ compensation law, having worked with Jason D. Mills since 2002. When Jason D. Mills & Associates merged with GGRM, Veronica transitioned to GGRM, bringing her vast expertise and dedication to the firm. As Litigation Manager, she plays a critical role in overseeing cases and ensuring clients receive the highest level of representation.

Outside of work, Veronica enjoys spending time with her family and dancing whenever possible. Her approach to life is to find happiness and live one day at a time. Her personal philosophy, “Es lo que es” (“It is what it is”), reflects her pragmatic and resilient outlook, essential traits in the legal field.

Erik Tondevold

A native of Utah, Erik Tondevold graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the University of Utah, Salt Lake City, in 2013. He went on to receive his Juris Doctorate from the William S. Boyd School of Law at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2018. He was Vice-President of the J. Reuben Clark Law Society and participated in the Boyd School of Law Mediation Clinic. He was admitted to the Nevada Bar in 2018.

Erik worked in a variety of legal fields before joining the GGRM team. He is excited to use his experience to provide quality representation for our workers’ compensation clients.

Erik is fluent in Spanish, developed while serving as a missionary in Chile for two years. He enjoys spending time with his family, playing sports and watching sports, especially the Vegas Golden Knights.

Following his relocation from North Carolina to Las Vegas, Nevada, Ethan Wallace joined the team at GGRM as an assistant in 2018. In his time with GGRM, Ethan has worked as a Litigation Assistant and Litigation Specialist in Workers’ Compensation. Through this experience, he has gained extensive knowledge related to the litigation process. He brings his expertise in legal research and writing, leadership, and communication to help GGRM achieve its vision of becoming Nevada’s premier injury law firm.

Ethan received his Juris Doctorate from the William S. Boyd School of Law at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, graduating in 2023.

In his free time, Ethan enjoys spending time with family, playing golf, and improving his skills on the grill.

Matthew “Matt” Zobrist, originally from Utah, graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, in 1998 with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. He was hired by the City of Henderson Police Department that same year, where he served as a Police Officer until retiring as a Sergeant in 2016.

During his time with the Henderson Police Department, he completed his Juris Doctorate at the William S. Boyd School of Law at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2006. He was admitted to the Nevada Bar in 2007. Combing his law enforcement experience and legal knowledge in the classroom,

He is an Adjunct Professor at the College of Southern Nevada and an Instructor for the Southern Desert Regional Police Academy.

Joining the GGRM team allowed Matt to continue to do what he loved doing in law enforcement – making a difference in people’s lives. “I love to help educate our clients on what their rights are when they are injured and give them hope.”

Matt speaks fluent Spanish, developed during his time serving the people of Paraguay as a missionary in his younger years. He is married to his college sweetheart and loves spending time with her and their seven children.

Originally from Tucson, Arizona, Christina Cabrera has spent over twenty years working for insurance companies handling claims before she joined the staff of GGRM. Her extensive knowledge of the inner workings of insurance claims management makes her an invaluable asset in her role supervising our team of Claims Specialists.

Christina understands how important it is for clients to have an advocate during the challenging and uncertain time of an injury. She has a heart for first responders that have been hurt in the course of their job – “They give so much to our community and we can give back by helping them in their time of need.”

Christina treasures creating memories with her children and family. She enjoys cooking, wine tasting, and big game hunting, and looks forward to traveling and concerts in the future.

Maria Diaz

Originally from Mexico, Maria Diaz moved to Las Vegas when she was about eight years old and considers it her home. She began her career almost 12 years ago with Jason D Mills and Associates as a file clerk. Her interest in workers’ compensation was sparked by hearing Jason’s passionate advocacy for clients, which inspired her to delve deeper into the field. Maria holds an associate degree in Criminal Justice and consistently achieved High and Highest Honors throughout her studies.

Maria’s journey with GGRM began with the merger of Jason D Mills and Associates, where she was given the opportunity to join the management team. She brings nearly 12 years of dedicated experience in workers’ compensation to the firm. Her deep understanding of the intricacies of workers’ compensation and her commitment to helping clients navigate their claims make her an invaluable asset to GGRM.

Outside of work, Maria enjoys spending time at home with her family and embracing her role as a mom. She is passionate about dancing, taking family trips, and shopping—believing a girl can never have too many shoes or purses. Brandon Gerber has been calling Las Vegas home since his Air Force father was stationed here three decades ago. After a workplace injury brought Brandon to the doors of GGRM, he found his passion helping clients receive the same excellent care and representation that he experienced. Brandon brings his skills in project management and team leadership to his role as supervisor of the administrative staff.

Brandon is focused on providing guidance, support, and training to his staff in order to help them see their potential and help them succeed. He is grateful for the opportunity to help make GGRM a great place to work, knowing that what we do truly matters.

Brandon enjoys spending his free time with his family and pursuing his interests in music, golf, cars, painting, and chess.

Born and raised in upstate New York, Jeff Hewes developed a strong sense of community early on. After high school, he enlisted in the Air Force, which brought him to Las Vegas as a military working dog handler.

Jeff recently retired from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department after 23 years of service, including 15 years in leadership roles, retiring as a police captain. His law enforcement experience and personal injury on the job fuel his dedication to helping clients navigate the workers’ compensation process. Jeff holds a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and a master’s degree in Legal Studies.

Jeff’s passion for hockey continues with his love for the Vegas Golden Knights. He enjoys spending time with his wife, adult children, and two Siberian Huskies. His favorite place is beachside, enjoying the serenity of the ocean.

Driven by a passion for helping others, Jeff believes true fulfillment comes from serving and uplifting those around him. Through empathy and dedication, he supports individuals in overcoming challenges and achieving their goals. Jeff aims to foster a culture of care, respect, and continuous growth, creating meaningful change in the community.

Empowering others through education and self-discovery is Michele Stevenson’s driving force. Originally from the San Francisco area, Michele moved to Las Vegas in the late ’70s, witnessing the city’s transformation. She earned her BFA in Theater Education from Arizona State University in 1992, winning Student Teacher of the Year. For over 25 years, Michele has applied her skills in education, project management, instructional design, and performance in the corporate world of adult learning.

Michele’s extensive experience spans the hospitality and government sectors. She has developed company-wide training programs as Training Manager for VEGAS.com, where she was recognized as the first Employee of the Month, as Director of Learning & Development at Wynn Resorts, earning accolades as Star of the Month and All-Star of the Quarter, and as Senior Training Coordinator at Clark County. Michele excels in creating effective training programs from scratch, often with limited resources.

Passionate about mentoring women, Michele holds a “Women in Leadership” certificate from Cornell University (2017) and graduated from Leadership Las Vegas (2021). She continues her artistic education at the Voice Actor’s Studio in Las Vegas. Outside of work, Michele enjoys singing, writing, and recording music and participating in community theater, and traveling with her family to concerts, conventions, and Disneyland.

Michele’s professional motto, “to educate, communicate, and motivate,” reflects her dedication to her career and personal life. She is currently building GGRM University, aiming to educate and elevate all GGRM employees to better serve the Las Vegas and Reno communities and support each colleague on their career path.

Lindsey Wyllie was born and raised in Hickory, North Carolina, and recently relocated to Las Vegas. She completed her education at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. Her undergraduate degree in Psychology/Counseling and Master’s in Industrial/Organizational Psychology have prepared her to support GGRM’s passion of caring for our clients and championing their cause. Lindsey’s ability to help employees discover their occupational strengths and support their efforts to give excellent service to our clients is her top priority.

Lindsey enjoys starting her days with a good cup of coffee, which fuels her to invest her professional skills and energy into GGRM’s vision of being Nevada’s premier injury law firm. Out of the office, she loves cooking comfort food, interior design, and spending time with her family.

In 1970, Aubrey Goldberg joined forces with John Greenman to form the Law Offices of Greenman and Goldberg. He completed his undergraduate degree at the College of William and Mary and went on to receive his Juris Doctorate from the Marshall-Wythe School of Law at the College of William and Mary. He was admitted to the Virginia Bar in 1966, the Nevada Bar and the U.S. District Court (Nevada) in 1968, and the U.S. Court of Appeals (9th Circuit) in 1985. He served with the United States Air Force on both active and reserve duty, attaining the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.

Mr. Goldberg has served in leadership positions for numerous organizations, to include President of the State Bar of Nevada, President of the Clark County Bar Association, and President of the Southern Nevada chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates. He is a member of the American College of Trial Lawyers as well as the Association of Trian Lawyers of America and the Nevada Association of Trial Lawyers. He has also served as a Supreme Court Judge Mediator for the Nevada Supreme Court. In 2016, he was selected as the Nevada representative for the U.S. Supreme Court Historical Society.

Mr. Goldberg has devoted his entire career to providing the best possible representation for his clients because he enjoys building relationships with his them and tackling the challenges that each new case brings. His extensive experience and faithful service have been the “gold” standard in our community.

Gabriel “Gabe” Martinez joined the firm in 1985. He graduated cum laude from Loyola Marymount University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and earned his law degree from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles in 1984. He was admitted to the California Bar in 1984 before returning to Nevada. He was admitted to the Nevada Bar and the U.S. District Court (Nevada) in 1985.

Mr. Martinez maintains professional affiliations with the State Bar of Nevada (Disciplinary Committee 1987-1996; Minority Relations Committee 1991-1997), the State Bar of California, Latin American Bar Association (former Vice-President), American Bar Association, Nevada Trial Lawyers Association, Nevada Justice Association, The Association of Trial Lawyers of America and the Million Dollar Advocates Forum.

Mr. Martinez has over 30 years of experience in personal injury law, general civil litigation and workers’ compensation law. He is dedicated to providing clients with exemplary legal services that meet their needs. When he is not defending the rights of his clients, he enjoys golfing, fishing and hunting.
